Let’s All Go “Green” in Honor of Earth Day!

April 2009

Did you know that, on average, “green” schools can save a school district $100,000 each year?  That savings is enough to hire two new teachers, buy 250 new computers, or purchase 5,000 new textbooks.  If all new school construction, renovations, and maintenance went green as of today, energy savings alone would total more than $20 billion over the next 10 years.   So, what better way to celebrate Earth Day than to join the “green” movement and show your support in preserving our climate and enhancing sustainability.

Fagen Friedman & Fulfrost (“F3”) is committed to making a positive environmental impact not only for Earth Day, but every day.  F3 provides legal advice on qualifying your school project for Collaborative for High Performing Schools (“CHIPS”) and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (“LEED”) certification, grid neutral programs, energy contracts, and drafting contracts for green design, green building, and green leasing.

As part of F3's commitment to being on the forefront of the “Green Schools” movement and in response to our clients’ growing need and desire for “green” schools, we are hosting focus groups in Santa Clara on April 24, 2009 and Los Angeles in late May.  These focus groups will serve as an open forum in which superintendents are encouraged to tell us what they require to meet the growing demand for going “green” and how F3 can help them accomplish that goal.  We invite you to attend one of our focus groups and present your needs, concerns, and ideas of how we can provide you with effective legal assistance to support your efforts of developing “green” schools.   If you are interested in attending a focus group, please contact Lori Johnson at ljohnson@fagenfriedman.com or at (323) 330-6323.
