Susan Winkelman is an associate in the San Diego area office.  Ms. Winkelman’s interests include special education, student matters, and labor and employment. 

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Winkelman was a summer law clerk with another California education law firm and a research assistant for Professor Shaun Martin.  During law school, Ms. Winkelman was a member of the National Mock Trial team and assisted the Deputy Public Defender in the felony arraignment department of the San Diego Superior Court.  Before attending law school, Ms. Winkelman was a first grade teacher for the Ravenswood City School District.  During this time, she completed the CalState teacher preparation program. 

Ms. Winkelman received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2007 and her B.A. from Stanford University in 2002.  Ms. Winkelman was admitted to the California State Bar and U.S. District Court in 2007.
