James (Jay) B. Fernow is a partner in the Los Angeles office. Mr. Fernow specializes in labor and employment law for public agencies. He provides practical legal advice and assistance to the firm’s clients on the daily management of employees, including discipline, dismissal and leaves. His labor and employment experience also extends to collective bargaining. He also advises public agencies on the Brown Act, public records, and (school district) student issues. In addition, Mr. Fernow has experience in civil litigation matters, including written discovery, depositions, trial preparation and court appearances.
Mr. Fernow graduated from The University of Arizona College of Law in 1993, and was admitted to the California State Bar that same year. He earned a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in political science from The University of Arizona in 1990.
